Glossy materials need the right care. Here you'll find shine sprays, care products and dressing aids for latex, Datex, vinyl and wetlook – by beGloss, Pjur Cult and Late X. A few steps after wearing keep the shine and make the material last much longer.
Latex: putting it on, shine, care
Untreated latex clings to the skin. A dressing aid like Pjur Cult Dressing Aid lets the piece slide more easily over arms and legs. Chlorinated latex, for example from Fetisso, doesn't need it. On any latex, the high gloss comes from a silicone-based care product applied after putting it on. After wearing, rinse the piece by hand in lukewarm water with mild soap, let it air dry and store it cool, dark and away from metal.
Datex, vinyl and wetlook
Datex has a layer of real natural latex on the outside, so it needs a shine spray too – beGloss makes one specifically for Datex. Care for vinyl with a product for vinyl fabric: it refreshes the mirror shine and keeps the surface supple. Don't fold vinyl and store it separately from other vinyl pieces. For wetlook there's a dedicated product that keeps its soft sheen.
Which product for what
The rule of thumb: latex and Datex need silicone for shine, vinyl and wetlook need a product for coated fabrics. Use the right product for each material – a latex shine spray on vinyl won't give the same result. You'll find the exact care instructions on each garment. The material guide explains how the materials differ, and the latex guide for beginners has tips for getting started.
